Woman accused of DWI after accident

A Glens Falls woman was charged with DWI after driving into the guide lines on I-87 near exit 21. That's according to the Warren County Sheriff's Office.

Police say Shannon R. Drake, 21, was driving her 2005 Pontiac north on I-87 when she veered from the middle lane off the right should and struck the guide lines. The car continued down the guide lines for about 300 feet causing heavy damage to both.

After an interview with the driver and field sobriety tests police were able to determine that Drake had been drinking in Saratoga prior to the accident and had been driving drunk. A breath test showed her BAC to be .19 percent.

Drake was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated for having a BAC over .18%, DWI and failing to change lanes safely. She will return to Lake George Court on April 21 at 9 a.m.
